Hmm... from one compressed format to another and then back? Have you
ever tried to save, and then resave a jpeg image and look at it? Not a
pretty sight... won't the same happen to the sound files?

Note that Matt's recording's weren't just any recordings, they were
made with a special cable, and thus deserve to be preserved at an as
high quality as possible (if he re-records them, I'd like to ask him to
do it in 256k/446000hz mono actually).
