This kinda has me wondering.
How long did it take you to finally "get to the bottom of" the dungeon, and
what tools did you use to get there? I, for example, had the dungeon hint
book, and it still took me a few years. I did manage to solve the puzzle of
the 3 doors in about 2 tries (lucky me!). I never got the Gargoyle's riddles!
I remember taking my character from first level to 8th or 9th, and was
ressurected 60 something times! (I remember thinking "wow, my stats would be
so much better if I never died...")
Anyone post to a BBS or call Datasoft for help? I think I finally solved Zork
III in the late 1990's, thanks in part, to the Internet. I think games are
less fun because of the Internet. If I don't get a puzzle I don't spend quiet
as much time on it as I would've otherwise. I just go look it up.

Matt,
In the manual that came with the Dungeon, if I may paraphrase it, it
mentions that you may cross the River Stonz at midnight with a "small fee".
And for several years I was bewildered why offering 1 copper to the
ferryman didn't do anything.....
