OK, so every now and then my brain makes weird links.. but think about this.
In AR, we're abducted by aliens and then hooked up to a 'computer' to
provide entertainment.. but as the story goes, you eventually find the
equipment you're hooked up to... (this is all going off of very old memory,
so I could be mistaken)

In the Matrix, most of the human race is hooked up to a 'computer' to
provide energy... and from rumors I have heard of the Matrix sequel, the
'real' world as Morpheus and Neo and Trinity know it is also a computer
simulation... I wonder if the Wachowski brothers are AR fans and borrowed
some concepts from the original AR. They are different enough to be
unrelated original concepts, but similar enough that it made me go "Hmmmmm!"
