This kind of thing makes me wonder about the new AR.
Computers are so different now than they used to be,
and the great thing about AR was how it took advantage
of some really really fundamental stuff on the Atari.
All the colors, the way the colors changed when the
sun set, the sounds... Can you really push modern
hardware as far when you can't predict what someone's
desktop configuration will have?

My co-workers and I joke about how big Photoshop is
getting. We say that pretty soon you'll need a
Photoshop computer. Perhaps we need an AR computer.
This way Phil can have complete control over the
environment and you can get exactly the experience he
wants you to have.

On the other hand, Phil created a world far more
realistic than any game before or since, and I'm sure
that with modern computing power he'll be able to
create a world that let's you get common colds and
runny noses, break limbs and have them heal, interact
with NPCs that have a memory of you from visit to vist
and even become biased towards certain types of people
over time, an economy that works on statistics and
probability, and is affected by the destruction of a
nearby farm.

Everything about AR still blows away everything just
about any other computer game I've played.

Why am I having visions of Phil sitting in the garage
outside of his town house with a pentium hooked up to
a sport's car?
