Subject: AR vs. The Matrix...?

"Current" plan is to produce the main story(Which is City, wilderness,
revelation and destiny). The artist is starting with City. We may skip
certain areas and leave them as future plugins(Palace, Arena). Dungeon was
always conceived as part of the city, and since the city is being built
anew, the dungeon will most likely be to.(But what shape it will be depends
on game balance and how it all fits with the wilderness). There will be less
complexity in making the whole as one, than making each piece, but I want to
make sure the whole is done, and not just a piece or two.

There will be both familiar places and new ones. There is logic(game design)
behind why and how magic works, why monsters roam the city, of course
everyone here knows what was one of the major final mysteries, therefore I
can't rely on it as a shock as it would have been if we had the opportunity
to tell the full story 17 years ago. So it becomes a mixture of old and new.
New because the old is known, and the old..because the old is known.

I do not want to risk just telling part of the story, I want to make sure
the full "story" is told. Of course, I do not believe in it being a story in
the linear sense. Non-linear, free-will, exciting experience, with emotional
highs and lows, with awe and tranquility, love, peace, and war. Interwoven,
not easily predictable, yet not capricious is the goal.

Well yesterday, I got about two days work done, today I think I was only
effective for a few hours. But that is okay, it is actually progressing
faster than I expected at this point, but I am sure there will be some bumps
on the road.

I don't recall if we've been down this road before,
but are we talking about the City or the Dungeon or
both, and would you be doing any adding or just
strictly re-creating?
