The Clothes Factor
I was wondering if anyone has catalogued the various clothing
items and their effects.
I have found as random treasure these items:
Silver Brocaded Bodice
Black Silk Kimono
Black Woolen Breeches
Gold Silk Pantaloons
Red Plaid Kilt
Leather Jerkin
Submitted for your approval:
I was attempting to get the crystal breastplate but I kept
getting Diseased! before I even reached
the armor. So I continually reloaded, put on my
winter wear, and entered the cavern. This is what
I had on:
Snowshoes
Brown Cotton Breeches
Heavy Leather Jacket
Robin's Hood
One time I reloaded and forgot to wear my heavy
clothing. I didn't get chilly until I arrived at the
armor. I made my way to the exit and left. I
wasn't diseased. This is what I accidentally had on:
Winged Sandals
Brown Cotton Breeches
Silver Brocaded Bodice
Robin's Hood
Which doesn't make sense, unless the Silver Brocaded Bodice
had something to do with it.
It either protects against disease or it protects against the
elements. (maybe both?)
I haven't been diseased while wearing it. Sometimes I
get Roasting! but only after being
admonished by the Great Wyrm or fighting a salamander or small
dragon in the Hot Area
on level three only.
Anyone have any experiences with the kilt, pantaloons, kimono,
or jerkin? I donated the kimono
because it came from a ronin who didn't like my looks (he was
evil, while I'm good). I was afraid
to wear it because it might be an evil item. I donated
the leather jerkin as well, after wearing it
for a bit (I didn't notice anything special). I
wore the g.s. pantaloons for four days but didn't notice
any differences. After getting my custom weapon built
and enchanted I donated the g.s. pantaloons.
Now I'm experimenting with the red plaid kilt.
Is it possible to improperly wear an item of clothing?
For example I replaced robin's hood
with the r. p. kilt and voila:
Winged Sandals
Silver Sash
S. B. Bodice
R. P. Kilt
Does the kilt being in the fourth slot mean that I am wearing
it on my head? (seriously)
Also, I didn't start finding clothes as random treasure until
I started donating unworn clothes
(purchased from the D & P). But this could be a
coincidence. Mostly I donate sandals and
robes.
Does the Silver Sash slightly increase one's treasure-finding
ability?
Does the Cloak of Levitation do anything else besides
increasing one's speed?
