Greetings list members,
The mailing list software we use to run this list doesn't have an option for adding a pre-pended line to the subject. I always wished it did, but the only option I can do is overriding all subjects to something, but that is useless to do, because then the topic would not change very easily, and the archive would become a mess with the same subject over and over. Sorry about that. I have always had the "X-listmember" in the headers, (just look for it) or you can use the filter "messages sent to: <<Address Masked>>" I am willing to change whatever needs to be changed, to make the list happy.
BTW: If you are subscribed to the list under one address, you can not post from another. If I allowed that, then we would get a lot of Spam posted here. I block about 25 messages a day by only allowed current members to post. If you see me forward your message, it means you are subscribed under another address, and need to change it to your current one. Just because your old address forwards to your new one, doesn't mean the list will recognize you. To find out what address is currently on the list, read the header of any message, and the X-listmember line will tell you. Let me know if you need any help fixing your addresses.
I am also happy to say, this list has been running solid on this server for 2 1/2 years, this coming Saturday. I have been a member since 1996, and I am not sure if this is the longest running time on the same server or not. I just remember the list dying out so many times since then. I am very glad to have the opportunity to keep this list alive, and hope that the current 91 members are satisfied with everything. Please let me know if I can do anything to help.
Be well,
Alexander J Rementer

Would it be possible to have the list server add an identifier to the
subject line of each message it sends? So, for instance, this message with
the subject "Admin question" would be changed to something like "ARList:
Admin question". The reason I ask is that I usually get nothing but spam
from some of the poster's domains (hotmail and yahoo, to name just two) so
I have filters set up to move messages from those domains into a spam
folder. If messages from the list had a special identifier in the subject
I could modify my filters to look for that header and not treat any
messages with it as spam. Or perhaps it could be done with an "X-" header
entry. Is this easily doable?
