lol.. that's great and all.. thanks for giving me credit.. but with all due
respect, I never used the word girlfriend..I actually used "significant
other" but to be more specific, it's actually my boyfriend.. ;-)
I read through it.. nice review. I also saw the movie again yesterday so
have some more thoughts...
<rant>
I can shed a bit of light on how Neo knew to meet the Oracle.. the ship that
Morpheus asked to stay at broadcast level got a communique (sp?) from the
Oracle, which was delivered to Neo.. that's how Neo knew he had to meet with
her. Although I found it odd that Seraph was NOT there to defend the Oracle
in the first Matrix.
Something else I was considering was that Neo was a program acting out "The
One" like all the others who just do what they are made to do.. but I don't
think this is the case since the 3 agents who he fights at the beginning say
"The anomaly.. he is still.. only human..." So I think Neo for sure is
human.. although I wonder if it's the same human who has been "The One" the
previous 5 times.
One other outlook I've given after the second viewing.. is that in the
original Matrix, Smith says that the Matrix used to be perfect.. but that it
didn't work.. so they had to make it imperfect. What I *think* the
architect said in Reloaded is that 1% of the people didn't accept the
imperfect Matrix (better than the 100% of the perfect Matrix).. and that
"The One" including the prophecy was created by the Oracle (who it turns out
is actually a 'bad guy') to bleed off that unsusceptible 1%, freeing them
into Zion.. and then sending the sentinals into Zion to whipe it out.
There are a couple flaws with this theory though.. one is the obvious.. that
this does not explain Neo's new powers at the end.. The other is that the
french asswhipe ;-) says he survived Neo's predecessors, which implies to me
that if a predecessor had killed him, he wouldn't still be here.. if that is
the case, has the keymaker been killed 5 times before also?
On a funner note.. did anyone else notice that in the first Neo vs.
many-smiths battle, near the end of the fight, the smiths getting knocked
down makes the sound of a bunch of bowling pins getting knocked down....?
;-)
And lastly.. (whew!) another suggestion from the not-girlfriend.. perhaps
the title of the movie is a clue.. "Reloaded"... he suggested it might be in
the sense "rebooted" whereas I considered it reloading a gun... The Matrix
Rebooted sounds pretty dumb ;-)
