Jon,
Well, there was always time to sacrifice homework and work on AR
instead. Also, you have to understand that I wasn't exploring alone, my
friends and I all worked together to explore the Dungeon. We each
played separately, but would discuss our adventures at lunch or after
school. In a sense, I was exploring the Dungeon with an entire party of
adventurers.
Also, I was the last of my friends to get a computer (it's tough when
you are a kid and you have to buy it with your own money... no help from
Mom and Dad here). Most of them had all beaten it before I even got a
copy of the game. Of course, the Dungeon is vast and there are always
more mysteries to uncover! There was still plenty for me to discover
that the rest of the group hadn't known about. I was also the one who
discovered an AR:Dungeon save game editor on some obscure bbs back then.
That thing worked great! Now, instead of having to walk all the way to
some distant point in the Dungeon, we could just run this program and
punch in the map coordinates (along with changing stats and gold and
gems and all that fun stuff).
I have access to a scanner. It is on my desk next to my monitor right
now. If people are interested, I'll start assembling my old notes and
stuff.
Tony

1988? You had more time to devote to the game than I
ever did - I started around 1986 on an Atari 800XL,
but have yet to finish it (how much can I get done
on-and-mostly-off over the course of 17 years?)
Have you access to a scanner? I'd like copies of your
notes and such - if possible, as they are potentially
useful to my "Resurrection" project (and I'm tempted
to think that a freeware AR engine and modules hitting
the 'net may help with the old Monolith project or
something similar...)
