Rob Hagenstrom, the keeper of the FAQ was working on the Palm Port... as far as I know he never officially started it, nor ever officially stopped it. These projects tend to fall apart because they really do require massive amounts of effort, and need one strong person to do 99% of the work.
I don't think Phil should release the source... something tells me that the 3 of you have stuff in there that's *still* light years ahead of what everyone else is doing.
Speaking of which, any thoughts on the Monolith "Matrix" game? I know Phil was working with them on ARO, and I know ARO.com leads nowhere, even though it still points to Lith's name servers.
What I would love to see is a PC framework with a small set of tools for building items, walls, etc... sort of like SSI's Unlimited Adventures. The City, I know was supposed to be changeable & expandable, I'm not sure how "open" the Dungeon was in comparison. Even if the tools were awkward & difficult to use, I'm sure some people out there would pick up the mantle & create a faithful version of the original & then continue the series...... So I guess all we need is a frame work :D
