I wish I could take credit for it but I can't. It's from a collection of
fortunes starting with the Unix fortune cookie program that I've slowly
added to over the years. I used the fortunes in my first "C" program at
Datasoft while working on the Dungeon. We never knew when we were getting
paid because of all the rules involved, "if the date falls on a weekend
then if there was a state or national holiday in the previous week and the
Pope crosses the International Dateline then..." So I wrote a program for
Ken and I called payday that told us the next payday and spit out a
fortune. Whether the quote is from the original list or not I couldn't
say. I've been meaning to update it to Windows and write a plugin that
randomly adds one to my email sigs -- when I have the time (hah!).

Never played Dune II but I've heard only good things about it.

No wait. My first C program was the one the de-ROT13'd the fortunes.
