Subject: I'm 2 degrees of separation from Dan Pinal!
Author: Tony A. Rowe <trowe--sparkunlimited.com>

Dan Pinal worked on Thunder in Paradise Interactive (a FMV game released
in 1995), which was written by Robert Weaver (son of Dennis Weaver).

Robert Weaver also wrote, produced, directed, and designed Voyeur II
(another FMV game released in 1996), which I was a game tester on. That
was my first job in the games industry!

I'm still in the industry and working at a game company in So. Cal. as
well. Same name as my e-mail address. Dan, our offices are not that
far apart, either; you are just in the next valley over. I'm closer to
the old Datasoft offices on Nordhoff, though.

I don't know if you worked with Robby Weaver closely or knew him well,
but his wife (Lynne) passed away recently. She was hit back in July
when that old motorist drove straight into the Santa Monica Farmers'
Market and killed 10 people. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I
didn't know if you knew her or if you knew what happened.

Ken and I work at the same game company in Southern Cal. Same name as
my
email. Both of us work on the lower level technical side of the games
and
do this for the 3 consoles. Matter of fact it's 8:30PM on Sunday and
here
I am at work trying to debug somebody else's code and waiting on a DVD
to
burn. No rest for the wicked, I called Ken about an hour ago and yanked

him away from dinner. I ain't suffering alone, heheh <evil grin>.
