I couldn't stand Everquest. I personally think the
best MMO that is out right now is Dark Age Of Camelot.
I also tried Horizons which just recently came out,
but didn't like that too much. The crafting system,
however, is pretty impressive.

I would try Dark Age Of Camelot over Everquest though.
Of course, I can tell you that your Everquest friend
won't agree with me. There seems to be some
competition and bad arguing between the two
communities.
