If you pre-ordered the game, you're not getting in the closed beta. Sad
fact, but that's the case. I hadn't even heard of the game awhile ago, and I
got in the early beta by signing up with my e-mail.

Anyway, the game reeks of bad asian anime. Stinks and reeks. However, if you
can find that sort of thing amusing (there is no way to take it seriously),
it's a really nice looking game, with a great interface (it's one of the
MMORPG games built on the Unreal engine... Ultima X being the only other I
know of).

Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing to do but kill monsters. Perhaps
there is more on the main island (I'm still on the newbie island), but I
doubt it. Apparently, the main pull for the game is 600 player castle
sieges, but I don't think that's enough.

It's not a roleplaying game, since there are no roles to play in it.

PS. Anyone have a clue when/where Europeans can sign up for a World of
Warcraft beta? I like their idea of becoming a ghost, a la Ultima Onlnie,
when you die.

DS. The MMORPG with the most roleplaying in it, Dark Ages, just got a new
village where players can open their own shops. They also established
knights of the realm, and voting for the first position is underway. Only
people who has been guard captains for at least four terms, or are currently
rangers (realm wide "police") are eligible for the position.

(It's only too bad that stupid non-roleplaying people ruin that game...
however, if a few people from Europe in here wishes to try it, I'll gladly
re-register my account and play with you. If Ultima is the king of worldly
detail, and Alternate Reality is the king of player details, then Dark Ages
is the king of social details.)
