Empire was good, don't get me wrong, but it left me with such a defeated
depressed and deflated feeling at the end that I was on a bummer for
weeks hehe.

I think very first star wars film was best - it had everything - the
actors especially Sir Alec Guiness and the role he played through out ie
the bar scene was priceless when he cut off that aliens hand and
everything carried on as normal, and the nonchalant way he would tell
the storm troopers what to say using his jedi mind trick - only very
poorly imitated in the future films with no finesse or panache like alec
did it :)

Now if we are talking Best George Lucas films - surely we must look to
the Indiana jones films?

Return and anything after sucked! IMO.
Empire is by far the best out of the series!
