I've tried emulating the original Mac version of the
City using Basilisk under Windows but apparently it
needs System 2.x which I couln't get to work. The 16
bit versions of the City have simplified combat but
allow you to do jobs to earn money, join guilds and
learn spells. I like the sound and music of the
original game but find it quite tough compared to some
of the 16 bit versions (I once found a Flamesword and
armour within a few moves of starting the ST version!)

To pass the intro you need to press the Atari Start
key. On Atari 800Win Plus that I use this is the F4
key - may be different on your emulator.

Regarding leaving the Bank I've had the same problem
having just really started playing the original Atari
City. It hadn't occured to me that you might need a
joystick to leave but I'll try that as the emulator
will probably allow you to map keys to emulate the
joystick.

On a related note - can anybody tell me why I
sometimes enter a building, get the "Entering..." text
and then a few seconds later get the "Leaving..."
text?

Thanks,

Guilherme
