Hello Susan, first I want to excuse my bad english, it is not my native language. I see that you have big problems to run the AR on your system. The ST-Version didn't run, I have tried it also on a Windows-System Computer with many emulators. The Copy Protection is still active, also on the Version 2.0. But I recognice, that the Amiga-Version works correctly without any problems. I use the WinUAE as emulator, and I can play the AR-City now for two years. My character was now on Level 11, and I got nearly 400,000 Experience points. But for the first times the emulator sometimes crashes, so that I had to reveal my character. I lost every time some points (often strenght). But I find out the correct configuration, and now the system don't crash anymore.
You have to made following settings: RAM: 2 MB
CPU type: 68000 and activate "Slow but more compatible"
Display: 800 x 600, Line Mode = Double, Chipset = OCS
Game and I/O POrts: Amiga Mouse
Port 0: PC Mouse, Amiga,
Port 1: PC-Joystick 1
Misc: activate "Show GUI on startup" and "Show LED when full-Screen", "AutoConfig" and "DirectX 6 support" (I think, this will not on the MacUAE available)

I had disabled the Sound, so in this case I don't now how it works. So, you can found the MacUAE emulator here: ;http://worldserver.oleane.com/ablancha/uae.htm Otherwise simple google for it. The only problem was to find the ROM file. You can search the Internet for it (normaly known as Kick...rom). I use the Kick204.rom, but I think, also older versions will work. I found out some tipps: When you drink four or five potions of unnoticability, the encounter of good and neutral lifeforms are very seldom. You have nearly only contact with evil lifeforms, also at daytime. The bad encounters are ghost, spectre and wraiths. When they attack you with "a bone crushing blow", it sometimes costs you a point strength. And you will not found so many potions to build up your strength. You should charm and trick the evil lifeforms as often as you can, because after 256 succesfully tricking or charming, your stats for charm or intelligence will increace. It will really works on the Amiga-Version! I didn't join any guilds till now. Somewhere in the Internet I found some information about the stats you will need to be acceptet in the guilds:

STATS NEEDED TO JOIN GUILD
GUILD      STR INT WIS SKL STA CHA SPEED ALIGNMENT LEVEL
ORDER      20  28  0   25  24  26  16    176       7
LAW        18  26  26  22  20  24  15    152-208   6
LIGHT      10  24  22  18  10  20  18    144       5
PHYSICIANS 10  26  24  26  23  20  15    128-244   6
BLUE       0   0   15  0   0   15  0     120-192   4
STAR       18  26  24  24  20  22  17    120-176   5
GREEN      26  15  15  22  24  18  17    96-160    4
THIEVES    20  20  0   24  18  15  18    64-128    3
CHAOS      15  15  23  15  23  25  15    64-128    3
RED        15  22  18  24  15  23  18    48-127    4
ASSASSIN   25  25  18  26  24  22  18    16-112    5
DARK       25  25  23  21  23  19  19    0-64      6

But I didn't find out, if this really works. The healer on the west gate are very forgetful. If you heal some wounds, go for a few seconds (10 or 15) and re-enter the healer again. The prices will not increase. The healer is often one hour there, the other not (e.g. 10 o'clock, 12 o'clock an so on). And after midnight (0 o'clock) and sometime at 12 O'clock the prices are half then normal. It is helpfull, when you are poisoned or deseased and need some help from him.

So, thats all I found out for the Amiga-Version. I hope, this will help somebody.

Volker
