The first five games are absolutely the best, both in style, content and
execution, so I can greatly recommend them! Also, if you think that the
graphics of The Dungeon was cheerful compared to The City, you can
witness Bonita Long-Hemsath and her team to totally wild with the
graphics in here (MM6 and onwards was later a real step back).
World of Xeen is really interesting, because back in the days, the only
way to get that "game" was to install MM5 over an existing MM4
installation, in order to gain access to new locations (it was a really
neat concept, where MM4 explored the light side of a world, and MM5 the
dark side).
I also own Interplay's Ultimate RPG pack, and you can quite easily get
it working under DosBox (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/). If not, I bet
VOGONS can be of help, as I don't remember the exact procedure I went
through to get my copy working (http://vogons.zetafleet.com/)... I don't
think I used my original DOS discs, but there is a chance, since my
installation is pretty old.
I would actually also suggest playing MM2, as that world is just as
enchanting as the World of Xeen.
Does anyone but me have the clue books for MM2-5? They're bloody huge! I
think one of them is around 500 pages.
